Comfort/Convenience/Tech Overview
As a full-size sedan, the Chevrolet Impala is available in three trim levels: LS, LT, and LTZ. Depending on your necessity for a sedan, you may choose from any of the trim level options available. Particular for the Impala, the LT and LTZ trims have been further subdivided into 1LT, 2LT, 1LZ, and 2LZ packages. While this may sound confusing, the number basically refers to the engine on the trim: a four-cylinder engine (1LT and 1LZ) and a V6 engine (2LT and 2LZ).
On the entry trim level, the LS, standard features apply. This includes 18-inch steel wheels, keyless entry, automatic headlights, cruise control, full power accessories, a trip computer, air-conditioning, OnStar emergency communications, a 4.2-inch color display, Bluetooth with a six-speaker sound system and CD player, USB/iPod connectivity, satellite and HD radio. The trim also comes with an option to include a convenience package wherein rear parking sensors, cargo net, and foldable rear headrests are available.

The LT trim level upgrades you to 18-inch alloy wheels, leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob, dual-zone automatic climate control, heated side mirrors, and 8-inch touchscreen display with MyLink infotainment interface, SD card slot, and Bluetooth audio streaming connectivity. Options available on the LT trim include two different engines (1LT and 2LT) plus a few packages to select from. The Convenience package includes parking sensors, remote start, and a rearview camera to the car. The Safety package, meanwhile, adds a lane departure warning system, collision warning system, blind spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alerts. The Premium Seating package upgrades to seat heaters and simulated suede upholstery. A Bose Audio package is also available for those who require more for their audio system. Adding a sunroof to the 2014 Chevrolet Impala is a stand-alone option
As the last trim level, the Impala LTZ includes all of the features that only come either as an option or additional package on the LT trim. Every LTZ model is equipped with leather upholstery. While a sunroof is a standard on the 2LZ model, it is an option for the 1LZ trim. Other exclusive options that can be added to the LTZ trim include 20-inch wheels and adaptive cruise control. For those that require more comfort, an available Comfort & Convenience package is available where it upgrades the sedan to include a heated steering wheel, ventilated front seats, auto-dimming rearview and driver-side mirrors, and driver memory settings. A Navigation package (keyless entry/ignition) and Wheel package (19-inch wheels) are an option for both the LT and LTZ trims.
PERFORMANCE AND MPG OVERVIEW
While the interior features on the 2015 Chevrolet Impala speak for its upgrades, the sedan also comes with three new engine offerings that suit everybody’s lifestyle. Built to fit the needs of every driver, these available engines are capable of providing enough power to the sedan. Available as a standard engine on the LS, 1LT, and 1LZ is a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine. It is capable of producing 195 horsepower and 187 lb-ft of torque. Its EPA estimate for fuel economy is at 21/31 mpg city/highway. A stronger engine, available on both the 2LT and 2LZ, is composed of a 3.6-liter V6 engine that produces 305 horsepower and 264 lb-ft of torque. This engine has an EPA estimate for fuel economy at 19/29 mpg city/highway. Across all trims, a six-speed automatic transmission is a standard; together with a Front-Wheel Drive (FWD). Based on performance tests, the 2015 Chevrolet Impala with a V6 engine can accelerate from zero to 60 mph in just 6.7 seconds. This is considered an average 0-60 mph time for a large sedan. A third engine offering is best suited for those who require a hybrid vehicle. The Impala Hybrid is equipped with a 2.4-liter four cylinder with eAssist mild hybrid. The engine is capable of producing 182 horsepower and 172 lb-ft of torque; and its EPA estimate for fuel economy is at 25/35 mpg city/highway. * Based on 2013 EPA mileage ratings.
